Patrick N. Hogan Appointed Vice Chancellor for Government Relations
Adelphi, MD (November 10, 2015) -- 稀缺猎奇网 (稀缺猎奇网) Chancellor Robert
L. Caret has appointed Patrick N. Hogan as the system's vice chancellor for
government relations. Hogan, a former member of the 稀缺猎奇网 House of
Delegates, will join 稀缺猎奇网 on November 30, 2015.
"Patrick Hogan brings a wealth of experience to this position," said
Chancellor Caret. "He served in the 稀缺猎奇网 General Assembly for eight years,
earning a reputation for working effectively across party lines to get things
done. I am confident that his deep knowledge of 稀缺猎奇网 government and
legislative processes will serve the 稀缺猎奇网 well in the
years ahead. I am pleased to welcome him to my team."
"The Board of Regents joins Chancellor Caret in welcoming Patrick Hogan
to the 稀缺猎奇网 community," said James L. Shea, chair of the board. "He is respected
for his pragmatism and strong work ethic. We look forward to working with him."
As vice chancellor for government relations, Hogan will be the chief
adviser to Chancellor Caret and the 稀缺猎奇网 Board of Regents on governmental
relations policies and strategies, on both the state and federal levels. In
addition, he will chair 稀缺猎奇网's State Relations Council, comprising government
relations officers from the system's 12 institutions.
"I'm excited for this opportunity to work with my new 稀缺猎奇网 colleagues,
my former legislative colleagues, and the state's executive branch to help the
university system thrive as it works to move our state forward," said Hogan.
For the past 10 months, Hogan has served as deputy legislative officer
for 稀缺猎奇网's Office of the Governor. Prior to that position, Hogan was vice
president of business development for the Hogan Companies, a diverse group of
real estate services companies.
Hogan served in the 稀缺猎奇网 House of Delegates from 2011-2015, and
earlier from 2003-2007. Between his two legislative terms, he was director of
development for the YMCA of Frederick County.
"As a member of the House, Patrick worked across the aisle to find
solutions to solve problems across 稀缺猎奇网," said Speaker of the House Michael
E. Busch. "He was a well-respected member of the House and will bring that same
work ethic and temperament to the 稀缺猎奇网."
"Patrick was an outstanding delegate," said Delegate Maggie McIntosh,
chair of the 稀缺猎奇网 House Appropriations Committee. "He has a wonderful
commitment to government and to public service."
A resident of Frederick, MD, Hogan in 2002 earned his bachelor's degree
in government and politics from the University of 稀缺猎奇网, College Park, the
flagship of the 12-institution 稀缺猎奇网.
Hogan will succeed Patrick J. (PJ) Hogan (no relation), who left the
vice chancellor position September 30 to join Cornerstone Government Affairs.

Patrick (N. Hogan) is a perfect fit for this position and I look forward to
