Regents' Technology Committee to Meet January 10 at ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Office

The ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø (ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø) Board of Regents' Committee on Technology will meet in public session via videoconference on Friday, January 10 at 9 a.m. Compressed video will be available to campuses requesting connections. Video will emanate from the Chancellor's Conference Room in the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Office, 3300 Metzerott Road in Adelphi, MD.

The Committee will consider several agenda items, including the following:

  • ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø PeopleSoft collaboration, with a report from Stan Jakubik, project manager for the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø PeopleSoft implementation
  • Donald Z. Spicer, ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø chief information officer, and Suresh Balakrishnan, ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø director of information technology planning, will report on the collaborative activities and collective changes to the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø institutional IT Plans 
  • Overview of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø network services, with a report from Paul Petroski, assistant vice president for information technology at the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, Baltimore, and chair of the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Intercampus Telecommunications System Council
  • Update on the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Digital Divide Initiative, including a report on the final stage of Phase I, which will be submitted to the state Department of Budget and Management (DBM); with comments from Ron Forsythe, vice president and chief information officer of the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Eastern Shore, Ahmed Elhaggan, vice president and chief information officer for Coppin State College, and William Marable, vice president at Bowie State University
  • Margo Burnett, project manager for the DBM's networkϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, will provide an update on networkϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, the state's long-distance network
  • Legislative update focusing on technology-related legislation, from Joe Bryce, ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø associate vice chancellor for governmental relations
