Board of Regents to Meet February 7 at UMBC

The ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø (ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø) Board of Regents will meet in public session on Friday, February 7 in Room 767 of the Albin O. Kuhn Library at the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, Baltimore County. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Board will consider several agenda items, including:

  • Capital and operating budgets for Fiscal Year 2004
  • Resolution of appreciation for Calvin Burnett, outgoing president of Coppin State College
  • Review of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø strategic plan
  • Funding for the Riggs Alumni Center at the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, College Park (UMCP)
  • Funding authorization to improve Research Park Building 1 for UMCP
  • ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø deferred compensation plan
  • ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø grievance policy for exempt and non-exempt employees
  • ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø policy for disclosure of misconduct for exempt and non-exempt employees
  • ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø enrollment projections
  • New program proposals, including a bachelor of technical and professional studies from Frostburg State University; a bachelor of science in forensic chemistry from Towson University; a bachelor of arts in community studies and civic engagement, a bachelor of technical and professional studies in simulation and digital entertainment, a master of fine arts in creative writing and publishing arts, and a master of fine arts in integrated design, all from the University of Baltimore; a master of information management and a post-baccalaureate certificate in critical theory, both from the UMCP
  • Community college issues
  • Proposed modification of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø policy on solicitation and acceptance of sponsored projects
  • Proposal to add the title "senior lecturer" to the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø policy on the appointment, rank and tenure of faculty
  • ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Digital Divide Initiative report
